Stages 3 & 4 of the Old Energy-New Energy project at the State Coal Mine.
We'd like to continue to develop our Old Energy- New Energy theme with interactive displays of new technology, educational opportunities and demonstrations of energy efficient building technology around the State Coal Mine site if approval can be gained. We have the plans under development. More work needs to be done.
Investment Model CORE (Community Owned Renewable Energy)
The Co-op is one of seven Victorian community solar organisations participating in a project which will, by 2018, deliver back office support for investment-model CORE projects, templates of commonly required documents plus a template for a more interactive updated website. This project was funded by the Victorian Government's New Energy Jobs Fund in round one of the three funding rounds, and is due to be finalised by December 2017. The Co-op aims to have the capability to take on such projects by early 2018.
Small Wind Turbines
A demonstration site or sites for small wind (5-20 kW) turbines are needed if farmers are to explore this option. The Co-op will consider a community owned wind turbine in the future.
Electric Farm Vehicles
We know a team who converted a van to electric running, with solar PV to charge it, and got VicRoads approval for on-road registration. We also know a local farmer who converts 4 wheelers. A demonstration project would be great !
